Wireless Card for Windows XP


  1. Download the Client Utility from the Help Desk Toolkit website
  2. UnZip the files
  3. Insert the Orinoco card into the computer. The computer should automatically find the driver.
  4. From the unzipped files go to Firmware and run WSU10810.
  5. Click the Update button to update the Firmware.
  6. From the unzipped files go to \Client Software\Windows and run Setup.
  7. Click Next to install in the default directory.
  8. Click Next to install in the default folder.
  9. The Client utility should now be installed.
  10. Click Start|Control Panel, then Network Connections.
  11. Right click the Local Area connection with the Orinoco card, and go to Properties.
  12. Go to the Wireless network tab, and click Add.
  13. Under SSID, type the SSID given to you.
  14. Uncheck the box next to this key is provided for me automatically.
  15. Under Network key enter the WEP key given to you.
  16. Under Confirm network key, retype the WEP key given to you.
  17. Click Ok, and then Ok again to exit out of everything.
  18. The Icon in the system tray should now go from red to green. (If it doesn't appear after a minute, restart the computer.)
