Wireless Card for Windows 9x/ME/2000

  1. Download the Client Utility from the Help Desk Toolkit website and run the Setup.exe
  2. Click on the Install Tab.
  3. The InstallShield will come up, click Next to continue.
  4. Click Yes to accept the License Agreement.
  5. Click Yes to accept the defaults install folder
  6. Make sure Infrastructure Mode is checked, and click Next
  7. Under the SSID enter the SSID that you were given, and Click Next.
  8. Click Next to continue, and then click Finish to restart your computer.
  9. Insert the PCMCIA card into the PCMCIA Slot when windows is done loading.
  10. The Computer will now detect the Card, and install Drivers.
  11. If the Configuration utility comes up and says it is going to update your Firmware, click Ok.
  12. Click Ok when it is done.
  13. There should now be a new Icon in the system tray called Instant Wireless Configuration Utility; click on it.
  14. Click the Configuration Tab
  15. Make sure the Wireless Mode is Infrastructure.
  16. Enter the SSID that you were given under Service Set Identifier.
  17. Click on the Encryption Tab
  18. Under Encryption (WEP), change it to 64 Bits.
  19. Make sure Manual Entry is Checked, and enter the WEP key you were given under Key 1.
  20. Click Apply changes, and then Click Ok.
