Minisoft 5.4.30 Installation and Configuration

Note:There are 5 steps to this installation.

1. Install the software.
2. Configure the NS/VT connection
3. Configure the printer connection
4. Save the configuration
5. Create a Minisoft Icon on the Desktop
6. Modify the icon
7. Test

Install Minisoft:

1. Click on Install Minisoft.
2. The installation password for this copy is: lingcod.
3. A box appears.The system will install.... and displays C:\Minisoft Click NEXT.
4. Another box appears. Please select a group in which to create the application icon. and displays, MINISOFT. Click FINISH.
5. A window appears thanking you for installing Minisoft. Click OK

Configure the NS/VT connection:

1. Under programs in your start menu, find the Minisoft Folder.
2. A side menu will pop out. Find the WS92 icon and click to open Minisoft.
3. Click on Config.
4. Select Comms and Network
5. In the Communication Type window, Select NS/VT and click OK.

   

6. In the NS/VT configuration window;

   

   Name = 134.50.254.1
   Localname.Domain.Organization = hp1.isu.edu

7. Click OK

Configure the Printer connection:

1. Click on Config.
2. Select Printer.
3. In the Printer Configuration Window;

   

   1. Select Pass Through Printing
   2. Select the correct printer from the displayed list
   3. Timeout = 3 to 6 seconds
   4. Click OK

Save the configuration:

1. Click Config
2. Select Save As

   

3. Navigate to the correct folder: C:\MINISOFT\WS92
4. File name = hp1.w92
5. Click Save

Create a Minisoft Icon on your Desktop

1. Under programs in your start menu, find the Minisoft Folder.
2. A side menu will pop out. Find the WS92_32 icon and Right Click on it.
3. Go to Send To and click on Desktop (Create Shortcut).
4. You will now have an icon on your desktop that says "Ws92_32." Right Click on this and click Rename.
5. Type in Minisoft WS92.

Modify the Minisoft Icon to open with the correct values:

1. Right click on the Minisoft WS92 icon
2. Select Properties

   

3. The Target line should read, C:\Minisoft\WS92\WS92_32.exe hp1.w92
4. Click Apply
5. Click OK

Test the configuration:

Note:You must be connected to the network or the internet for this test to work.

1. Double click on the Minisoft WS92 icon to open it.
2. Do you see the MPE/IX: prompt?
3. No? Go to: "II: Configure the NS/VT connection:" and try again.
4. Yes? You have successfully installed and configured Minisoft.
